Aid Station 4: Captain Gladys Najar with the Bolingbrook Fun Run Club

Hi Gladys Najar, thank you to you and the Bolingbrook Fun Run Club for manning aid station #4. Can you tell us about the club, and how BFRC got started?

I started this club, because I wanted to motive people to get off the couch. Since I started the club in 2011, we have seen so many members achieve goals like running their first 5k, to completing their first Ultra Marathon. We have weekly runs for all level of runners, you can find out more information about us at or go to and look for some of our scheduled runs.

What is your volunteering motivation?

Last year in 2015 I tackled my very first Ultra Race and finished the 50 mile distance at the Hennepin 100.

It was an experience I will never forget. The volunteers and Michele were what made the experience so special.

That is why , this year I really wanted to give back and volunteer as an aid station Captain at the Hennepin 100.

I asked some of the members of BFRC to join me in volunteering and giving back to such a great race.

So look for me, and the BFRC Crew during the race, we will be out there supporting all runners, making sure we provide you with water, a friendly smile, and some tasty treats.

Good Luck to all the Hennepin Hundred runners!
